“She is a wonderful performer,” Jennifer Nettles told reporters later. “Obviously, country music is hip and it’s cool and it’s fresh, and I think her being here tonight is even more testimony to that.”
Jennifer Nettles’ thoughts on performing “California King Bed” with Rihanna: “It was very exciting. The energy for me onstage was great. I thought it felt palpable in the room. I don’t know how it translated on television, but it felt great. I had a great time. I loved the sound of it. She’s a wonderful performer, obviously.”
Though the pair seems to be an unlikely duet for any music fan, the two balanced each other’s vocals well and were able to showcase their own talents while proving their versatility as performers.
